Configuring Barclaycard back office

This article will take you through the steps required to make sure your Barclaycard account is configured correctly to work with Firebird's system.  This will ensure the process of a delegate is seamless and all communication works between both systems.

Step 1) Log in to your Barclaycard account.  These are your details and should not be revealed to Firebird at any time.

Log in to the back office and use the following path to navigate to the Global security parameters page:

Click on Configuration in the top menu navigation bar.

Click on Technical information in the new navigation bar under the top bar.

Click on the Global security parameters tab that results.

Ensure SHA-1 is set for the Hash algorithm

Ensure UTF-8 is set for Character encoding

Step 2) Navigate to the Data and origin verification tab.

Click on Configuration in the top menu navigation bar.

Click on Technical information in the new navigation bar under the top bar.

Click on the Data and origin verification tab that results.

Your screen should be similar to this:

Please enter https://flame.firebird.systems in to the top box in the Checks for e-Commerce & Alias Gateway section. This field is the URL of the merchant page containing the payment form that will call the page: orderstandard.asp.

This should look like:

Enter a word as the SHA-IN pass phrase and then pass this securely onto the Firebird team.

Note

This pass phrase is used to encrypt the data sent between Firebird and Barclaycard. It should be treated like a password and given a suitable strength and complexity.

Step 3) Navigate to the Transaction Feedback tab.

Either click on the Transaction Feedback tab if it is available or 

Click on Configuration in the top menu navigation bar.

Click on Technical information in the new navigation bar under the top bar.

Click on the Transaction feedback tab that results.

Your screen should be similar to this:

In the HTTP redirection in the browser section, please make sure the tickbox is ticked for the I would like to receive transaction feedback parameters on the redirection URLs. box, as below:

Scroll down to the All transactions submission modes and in enter a pass phrase in the Security for request parameters field.  Enter a word for the SHA-OUT pass phrase and pass this securely onto the Firebird team as the SHA-OUT pass phrase..

Note

This pass phrase is used to encrypt the data sent between Firebird and Barclaycard. It should be treated like a password and given a suitable strength and complexity.

Note

The SHA-IN and SHA-OUT pass phrases should not be the same to aid security.
